We spent a weekend in Annecy a few weeks ago. They call it Venice of France and with good reason. It is a picturesque little town in the French alps about 5 hours drive from where we live. It is known for its Old Town (Vieille Ville), the Lake with its crystal blue waters, the canal going through town and its pastel coloured houses.
We were there just before Christmas, so we got to experience Le Marché de Noël (Christmas markets), vin chaud anyone? For me the highlight was Lac d’Annecy with the Alps as its backdrop. The water is so clear and the swans just adds to its beauty.
It was our first weekend away since having Zara (she was at 8weeks at the time) so it wasn’t always easy with a toddler and a newborn, but definitely worth the trip.
